The Culloden Coat is one of the most beloved and dramatic artifacts of the great Highland Uprising of 1745. Previous attempts at recreating its tartan have been woefully inaccurate. For years, kilt wearers have clamored for a truly accurate reproduction that would properly honor both this tartan and the epic events of the '45.
Now, thanks to the work of noted tartan historian Peter MacDonald and the House of Edgar tartan mill, we are able to offer you a precise recreation of the Culloden Jacket tartan. This is as close to how the cloth would have appeared in 1745 as science can get.
This version of the tartan is woven double width (54" wide) with a tuck in selvedge.
