The ideal jacket to go with your Great Kilt or to add some historical flair to your modern Highland dress. This coat is an extremely accurate reproduction of the famous Culloden Coat; the awe-inspiring artifact that was worn by a Jacobite during the Battle of Culloden on April 16, 1746.

We do not know who wore the Culloden coat; though he was most likely a man of some rank as garments such as this were costly. We also do not know whether he was killed during the battle or afterwards during the infamous "mop-up" operations conducted by the Hanoverian troops. That the coat survived the day is remarkable. Since 1990, this priceless artifact has been on display at the Kelvingrove Museum & Art Gallery in Glasgow.

IMPORTANT:

* This jakcet is snug fitting as was the style when the original Culloden coat was made.  As it's meant to be an accurate reproduction, the shoulder seams are slightly father back and meant to gently pull your shoulders back.

* Each jacket is custom-made in Scotland. Turnaround is 6 - 10 weeks.

* Sizing:  Order ONE SIZE UP from your usual suit jacket size.
(Ex.: If you normally wear an American suit jacket size 42 Reg, please order a size 44 Reg. If you normally wear a 48 Long, order a 50 Long.)

STOCK Size measuring instructions:

The vast majority of our customers fit into a jacket that is a stock size (i.e. 44 Reg or 48 Long).  To figure out which size will fit you best, follow the instructions below.

Chest Size

This measurement is best taken using a cloth tape measure, while wearing a t-shirt.

Lift up your arms and wrap the tape measure around your chest at the widest point (you can then put your arms down).

Breathe "normally" and don't over inflate or exhale too much.

Take the measurement (not snug) at the widest part of your chest.

Add 2" to 3" to that number to reach the next "even" number up. Example: If you measure 43 to 44, you would order a size 46. If you measure 41 or 42, you would order a size 44.
