The beloved Brian Boru Harp, symbol of Ireland, cast as an elegant pewter kilt pin with green gem stones.
This elegant kilt pin is modelled on the famous Brian Boru Harp preserved at Trinity College in Dublin. The design of the Brian Boru Harp is known world-wide as a powerful symbol of Ireland and Irish identity (not to mention the early rebellions against British rule). The actual harp itself dates to the fourteenth or fifteenth century (long after the time of Brian Boru) and is one of only three surviving medieval Celtic harps. It was donated to the Library of Trinity College in 1782. This piece is suitable for use as a kilt pin or ladies brooch and measures 58mm by 34mm. Pin lock & clasp closure. Made in Scotland.
